Staining, oiling and repainting for outdoor timber
Outdoor timber fails from the top down and the bottom up. Decks get UV and foot traffic, fences get ground moisture. We match the finish to what each surface actually copes with, rather than putting the same product on everything.

How we approach it
Strip and sand back
Grey, weathered fibres sanded off to sound timber. Coating over silvered timber is why most deck finishes lift within a season.
Repair and fix
Loose boards refixed, protruding nails punched, splintered edges eased. Anything rotten is flagged before we coat it.
The right product per surface
Penetrating oils on decks so the finish flexes and wears rather than peeling. Film-forming stains where you want colour and coverage on fences.
Maintenance you can actually do
We tell you the realistic recoat interval for each surface and what to use, so you can top it up yourself rather than paying for a full strip again.
Common questions
Oil or stain, what is the difference?
Oil soaks in, wears away gradually and is easy to recoat, which suits decks. Stain sits on the surface, gives stronger colour and coverage, and suits fences and screens. We will recommend per surface.
How often will a deck need redoing?
In full Geelong sun, expect a light recoat every twelve to eighteen months if it is oiled. Shaded decks stretch further. A recoat is far cheaper than a strip and start again.
Can you change the colour of an old fence?
Usually yes. It depends what is on there now and how sound it is. We check adhesion at the quote and tell you honestly whether it needs stripping first.
